Laird Security Hardware is pleased to announce publication of a BBA assessment report number 2523 on its trade window hardware which includes the Comet Handle, Crusader Friction Hinge and the Laird Espagnolette bar.
The report covers endurance testing, an assessment of the likely durability and corrosion resistance, resistance to wear and fatigue, mechanical performance and suitability of materials and finishes and confirms a service life consistent with a 25 year predicted life.
The Comet a modern handle design was subject to a series of tests including resistance to excessive force, mechanical loading and operated to 25000 cycles.
Crusader friction hinges were tested in accordance with BS6375: pts 1 and 2 and found to meet the requirements, while under corrosion resistance the hinge was found to satisfactory and met grade 4 (240 hrs) without any affect upon performance.
Laird Espagnolettes are designed to provide excellent security with adjustable mushroom cams for excellent weathersealing.
The performance and corrosion assessments confirm a service life of 25 years without any mechanical failure.
